iGEM?
iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine competition) is the premier undergraduate and high school synthetic biology competition in the world.
Founded in 2004 at MIT, iGEM brings together students to solve real-world problems using synthetic biology. Teams design, build, and test biological systems using standardized genetic parts. The competition emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and responsible science.
Every June, students from over 400 teams across the globe present their projects at the iGEM Giant Jamboree, showcasing breakthrough research in areas like medicine, agriculture, energy, and environmental science.
